Your questions, answered
To get into Oxbridge, an applicant needs a high level of English. As a rule, you need to pass an international English test — IELTS with 7.0–7.5 or TOEFL iBT ~100+. If your English is still far from perfect, this can be fixed: we recommend language courses or one-to-one lessons and retaking the exam. A university may make a conditional offer if your IELTS score falls short, but you will still need to prove your language level before the course starts. You will also need it to do well at interview, so it's best to take care of this early.
The education system in CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, etc.) usually involves 11 years of schooling, while British universities require 12–13 years of academic preparation. So it is impossible to go straight to Oxbridge after school — an additional stage is needed. Usually this is one of four options: A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, a Foundation programme in the UK, or completing 2 years of higher education in your home country. We choose the right route and prepare you for every stage — from choosing a college to applying to Oxbridge.
Oxbridge has very strict selection criteria. For undergraduate admission via A-Levels, you usually need grades of at least A*A*A or A*AAA. In the International Baccalaureate, successful candidates usually score 40–42 points out of 45, with 6–7 in their specialist Higher Level subjects.
UK universities don't offer free places to international students — all students pay fees, and international fees are high. However, various scholarships and bursaries can cover part or even all of the cost. Oxford, Cambridge and their colleges award a limited number of scholarships to outstanding applicants each year.
